Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T starts with personalization by talking about a friend's advice that changed her life. T asks ss to talk in pairs about an advice they give or are given to them that they will never forget.

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T chests the preparation task. ss answer individually. ss check in pairs. T gives an OCF.

controlled practice (10-14 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

T let the ss read the T/F Qs. ss watch the video. ss answer in pairs. T gives an OCF. T chests the matching task. T gives instructions. ss answer in pairs. T gives an OCF.

Useful Language (6-7 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T explains the phrases and sentences used to give an advice.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

ss are asked to talk in pairs in given Qs using the useful language.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Teacher monitors students while speaking for the feedback on content and error correction. After that, content feedback, language feedback and error corrections will be done on board, teacher elicits the correction from the students. Also, teacher writes the good statements on board to praise and encourage the students. The main aim here is to learn from their mistakes and be more confident when they use the target language.
