Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will greet the students and ask them how they are feeling. After that, I will start the discussion by displaying a few pictures of different homes and elicit the types and parts of different homes from students. After that, I will display the following question: - What do you look for when you look for a new home? (Mention home type, location, and parts) After that, I will give them a few moments to think about the question and then I will ask them to discuss in pairs. After that, I will ask them to share a few answers with the rest of the class

Test #1 (5-8 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

I will ask the students to do exercise 1 on page 38 and put the phrases into groups 1-3 to check if they can match the correct phrase to the correct group or not. I will ask them to work individually for 2 minutes. After that, I will display the answer key and ask them to check their answers in pairs. Then I will ask them if they had any issues with any of the answers.

Teach (7-13 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

I will teach the most difficult vocabulary and clarify them. The vocabulary that will be taught is the following: - a detached house - an apartment block - a terrace house - a cottage - a loft - a balcony - a garage - suburbs - a residential area - a neighborhood All the above vocabulary should be clear to students because they will come across all of them throughout the lesson. Teaching the vocabulary will follow the ECDW order for each word as follows: - Showing a picture to help elicit the meaning - Drill the word through different drilling patterns with the class - Write the word on the board After that, I will play an audio track and I will ask the students to work on exercise 3b, which is to try to know which place do Tim and Jo want to see again? and Why?. I will ask the students to discuss this in pairs and then display the answer key. After that, I will ask the students to complete exercise 4a, which is to look at the sentences and think if each sentence describes the house in Bishopston (B), the house in Redland (R) or the flat in Hotwells (H)?. I will ask the students to work individually on this exercise for a few minutes. After they are done, I will play the audio once again and ask them to check their answers. Then, I will display the answer key.

Test #2 (5-7 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

I will ask the students to work on exercise 1 & 2 from the workbook to make sure they fully grasped the target language. I will ask the students to work in pairs for a few minutes. After that, I will ask the students to check their answers and I will display the answer key.

Free practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will ask the students to talk about their dream home in pairs. I will give the students one minute to think about the following regarding their dream home: - Type of Home - Parts of Home - Location After that, I will ask to work in pairs and describe their dream homes in 5 minutes and switch roles. After that, I will ask the students to share some ideas with the rest of the class

Error Correction (2-3 minutes) • To provide Ss with some error correction and feedback on their output.

At this stage, I will reflect on some errors and their correction so the students can get some feedback on their output
