Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students and build interest in the topic to prepare Sts for reading

Students will listen to the sound of a roller coaster, ask the students if they can recognize the sound and then I will elicit the words ( amusement park , theme park ). after that I will ask Ss a few questions about the topic to build interest and prepare them for the coming reading task.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of TL and have a context around which the language lesson is based

Student will be given a HO of a modified page of a reading under the title ( ten facts about amusement parks ) that include 4 questions that will allow students to 1- be exposed to the TL, 2- practice their reading skill ( scan-reading sub-skill ). they'll get to read the text , answer 4 short questions about the text, check their answers with their partner and then get a feedback ( answer-key given to students )

Language Analysis (10-12 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

[They have been to an amusement park], will be the sentence ( taken from the reading text ) that the Grammar lesson will be built around. after the meaning has been explained and checked (CCQs , is the actions in the past? yes. do we know when it happened in the past? no ) two other forms will be explained [ they have never been] and the Q form [ have you been ? ] , after checking the meaning , and the form , students will learn the pronunciation and we'll do some drilling ( note. pronunciation might be taught with the form )

Task ( controlled practice ) (8-9 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target language

Students will be given a HO from the same page, they will rewrite and complete sentences to form questions. after they have finished they will get to check their answers with their partner followed by a WC FB. after they have got the right questions, (pairs changed if possible) students will take turns asking their partners these questions. ( error correction if necessary )

Language Practice (production) (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the target language through the productive skill of speaking

Students will be asked to mingle and ask other students in class about whether they have or haven't done the thing mentioned in the questions ( HO from the previous stage ), and write the names of the students who HAVE done those things, after a few minutes of speaking ( and monitoring ) students will be given WC feedback ( error correction; errors they made while speaking )

IF-TIME (2-3 minutes) • practice TL

a quick recap, Teacher will ask random questions about things students have done, and ask them about other students ( which will allow students to use TL in third person form )
