Description

In this lesson, students will learn about likes and dislikes through a conversation in the context of a birthday party.Ss will work on reading for gist and for detailed information. The form of the verb like,love,hate and their negative form will be worked in class as well as the speaking.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set the context of the lesson and engage students.

-T shows Ss 4 photos about cartoons, videogames,etc on jamboard (pag.1). for the purpose of Ss recognize each photo. -T asks 2 students about their likes e.g What is it? Is it a movie or video game? . - Ss ask others similar questions using the others photos of the example (ice scream and soccer). T uses prompts to help Ss .Jamboard (pag.2) - T explain about expressing preferences using like,love and hate (Jamboard pag.3)

Language Preparation (MFP) (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Meaning -T shows Ss a video about likes a dislikes on youtube. -T asks 2 students questions about video .(Jamboard pag.4 and 5) Form - T shows Ss the form of the expresions explaining when students should add letter "s" in the end of the verb.(goggle presentation) - T gives Ss an example to enforce the information about the next activity.(jamboard pag.10-13) - Ss have 3 minutes to complete the activity. They work in breakout rooms in groups. Pronuntiation - T shows Ss 3 audios where They have to listen them , one by one.Also,Ss can see these sentences in Jamboard (pag.14) - Ss repeat the sentances trying to copy the intonation. - T ask Ss where is the word with sound louder ? or Which is the word that has the most stress.(Jamboard pag.14)

Gist Reading Task (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

-T shows Ss a conversation between two friends about Jimmy`s birthday.(Goggle doc) -T asks 2 students to read the conversation.(Jamboard pag.15 and 16)

Detailed-Reading Task (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks.

-Ss answer 4 questions about some details of the text through goggle form (Birthday party). -Ss work individually for 8 minutes then T ask two students about their responses and compare with the rest.

Final Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide Ss put all the information received to an builder activity.

- Ss do an activity in wordwall where they have to sort words according with the form explained before.

Feedback (3-5 minutes) • To summarize mistakes made by students during the lesson.

- T takes notes of Ss mistakes. - T selects 2 of them to write on the board and correct them with students.
