Jerry, which of these do you prefer? Why? Nilthon, have you used any of these?

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Get Ss to match subheadings to paragraphs as a Gist task in Google Forms. There is a BOR, then they check answers in OCFB. Students will see the answers summary.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Use ex 4A as the intensive task to get marker sentences. Ask students what words indicate difference between types of transportation mentioned. The in Jamboard highlight the sentences.

Clarification (12-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Cover Meaning, Form and Pronunciation of the language. I will use Ex. 4 B&C arranged on a Jamboard. Read page 136 to understand the language better.

Use part of 5.1 (a,b) on pg 137 to provide controlled practice of the language. Learners do this individually in Google Forms then OCFB.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students work in pair to create a timeline in Jamboard of a certain invention, for example the cellphone (the first cellphone was large and expensive, later in the 90's cellphones became smaller and more people could buy them, today cellphones are the smallest size ever and more affordable than before. Conduct Feedback and DEC (guided peer correction).
