Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Use questions in 3A p 60 to introduce the topic of finding information and questions children ask.

Presentation through the text (3-4 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Use Ex. 3A (2) as a Gist task. Ss read and see if the questions they thought of in 1 are in the text.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Ss underline examples of information verbs in text from ex 2A in a Jamboard

Clarification (12-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Cover Meaning, Form and Pronunciation of the language through a Jamboard

Controlled Practice (3-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Use exercise 3 A on pg 66 (Google Forms) to provide controlled practice of the language. Learners do this individually, then check in BOR before OCFB.

Free Practice (8-9 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Use exercise 3B on pg. 66 for freer practice, get Ss to complete and compare answers in BORs using Jamboard before OCFB. For DEC, write suggestions for students on a Jamboard.
