In this lesson, they learn about getting a job. How to apply and what to do and what to wear when then want to go to an interview. Apparently, They are more interested in listening rather than other skills. They will also be able to pick up some phrases such as, sorry I am late/ i have got very good people skills. Finally, they will have an interview vis-a-vis to make the task more productive.


Abc Listening

Main Aims

  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about Good qualifications for a job and lead them to a productive speaking in the context of Job reqruitment

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about job recruitment in the context of qualifications for a job.


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

To initiate with some pictures about an interview and how to dress and how to act while interviewing. I will give them some pictures about job interview and i will ask them to predict the picture and what it is about. I will ask them to think about and then check their answers in pairs.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

I will ask the some questions related to the listening and i will try to elicit some key words such as qualifications- interested in- fashionable- future career. I will write some sentences to elicit the the meaning of the words WC.

Listening for gist (8-10 minutes) • To improve their ability to listen better

I will play it once and ask them to listen carefully and take notes whatever they will understand. After that, i will ask them to check their answers based on their understanding. Following that they are prepared to share with whole class. Then guess the answers of the questions.

Productive Task(s) (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

The students will listen again to get more information about and pay attention to details to make it more productive. Upon finishing the listening, i will ask them to answer some controlled questions related to the listening. Finally, i will ask the students to share their comprehensions as a class activity and following that checking the questions.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Finally, i will put the students in pairs for role-play which is very very practical and they will learn with high frequency of usage. In this case, two by two they will interview each other to make them feel better. As far as i am concerned, students of this class enjoy speaking and doing different activities as well as correct their mistakes.
