In this lesson, Students will learn to practice speaking for fluency in the context of likes and dislikes.

  • To provide practice of language used for phrases and vocaubulary in the context of likes and dislikes

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will demonstrate some pictures of leisure activities, foods, and things on the first slide. I will talk about my preferences and things I dislike to give students an idea about how they will start to talk next.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

I will ask students to read the vocabulary on the slide and tell them to we are focusing on how to express our likes and dislikes things using the language. I will demonstrate specific phrases that students are able to use when they are speaking. I love travelling. I like music. Rock music is (are) okay. I hate reading. I really like animals . I don’t like cats. I quite like cooking.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

MFP using likes/ dislikes things and the vocabulary and phrases from content preparation task. I love travelling. I like music. (phrase) (verb+ ing) (phrase) (noun) I He We + like/love/dislike/hate +verb-ing She +likes/loves/dislikes/hates + verb-ing You or It or They + noun noun

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Round 1- Student will discuss in pairs in BORs about their own likes and dislikes using learned vocabulary and phrases. Round 2- Students will discuss about in pairs via BORs about their best friends likes and dislikes using vocabulary and phrases. Round 3- students will talk about why they likes or dislikes things . Next, OCFB to to share what students heard from the peers.

Feedback and Error Correction (4-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
