Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask if the students recognize these celebrities, follow up with if they like celebrities or celebrity culture? Then have them predict what an article might be about based on them.

Exposure (6-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

2 minutes to read the article. After this, I will lead a t-s discussion about the article. Ask what the article was about and demonstrate what I found interesting. Then ask students what they found interesting. Maybe ask for a general summary.

Useful Language (7-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Do a bit of meaning, form, and pronunciation using the provided Useful Language from the course book. I think I will focus on pronunciation and form. generate an example. Leave them with the dictionary in sharing.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

s-s groups, we'll break into an adequate number, either groups of three or two depending on class size. Before we get into groups, I will pull up another article. They will have two minutes to read the article quietly. Then once in groups, they will discuss what they thought of the article for 7-10 minutes. Swap groups and do it again. They will be provided the text and word bank for their personal use.

Feedback and Error Correction (4-7 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

I will wrap up the lesson asking what the outcomes were from the groups, asking them what their verdicts were and what they thought about the article. DEC can happen here if I heard any issues while observing.
