Description

In this lesson students will practice their speaking and vocabulary by some pictures and definitions. They brainstorm different names and start predicting jobs. Following it, they will do some exercises which are definitions and some matching sentences. They will discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of different jobs. Finally, there is role play about their jobs and talking about the jobs of their family to make the topic more friendly.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a debates of merits and demerits of different jobs in society

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start by showing some pictures and elicit the meaning of different jobs from the students one after another.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

After that i will ask the students to discuss about their favorite jobs and the advantages and disadvantages of the job. Then checking answer would be done.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will let them do ex.1 and discuss about the differences of job and career and work.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will teach the correct pronunciation and give the some time to discuss about different phrases and do ex.2. which is matching. Checking answers will be done by whole class,

Controlled written Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

i will give the students to do some controlled questions based on different jobs. i will chech and discuss about it.

controlled practiced speaking (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

i will want the to write about someone they know. Then i will ask each and every single of them to discuss about their answers.
