Description

In this lesson, students learn about -ed/ing adjectives through a text about the news. The lesson starts with a discussion about the news nowadays, and their opinion about it. This is followed by listening to others' opinions using -ed/ing adjectives. Finally, there is some controlled practice and freer practice via a discussion activity.

Procedure

lead in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

the students will have a group discussion about four statements about news.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

The students will listen to an audio that has four different opinions for four different people about the news. then they will match the opinions to the statements they used before.

language clarification "meaning " (3-5 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to know the meaning of the TL

students will answer a task that will help them know the meaning of every -ed/ing adjective were used in the text

language clarification "pronunciation" (3-5 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to listen and pronounce

students will get to listen to the audio one more time and gist the adjectives that every speaker used. then they will pronounce every adjective in the TL.

language clarification " form " (7-10 minutes) • To allow students to know when to use -ed/ing adjectives

Elicit from the students when to use both -ed/ing adjectives and give more clarifications using CCQs and examples.

controlled practice (3-5 minutes) • To provide make sure the Ss got the main aim of the lesson

The students will answer the controlled practice task ex.1 in the book

Language Practice (7-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

The students will discuss in groups how will they feel in certain situations.
