In this lesson, Students are going to learn how to use be going to through ppp and how to use it to talk about their plans and predictions.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of be going to in the context of plan for tomorrow

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of plan for tomorrow

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher will talk about their plan for tomorrow. what they are going to do tomorrow .

Exposure (1-2 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Teacher will ask the student about their plan and what they are going to do tomorrow.

Highlighting (1-2 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

The teacher will write some of the students that the students made on the board and will highlights the verbs that they have use.

Clarification (4-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

The teacher will work on meaning, form and pronunciation of the TL by asking the students to tell her what time this tense refer to and will show it on a time line. The teacher will work on the correct pronunciation of the short form of " 'm, 's, 're + going to" . and will clarify hw the sentence is formed by writing the structure on the board with the help of the students.

Controlled Practice (2-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The students are going to do an exercise at the back of the book individually. They will have 2 mins to answer the question and after that they will check their answer white the whole class.

Free Practice (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The students will have 3 mins to talk about their plan of tomorrow. They will be given some fed back if needed at the end of the class.
