Description

in this lesson students are going to learn and become introduced with cognates and false friends. they are going to read a funny conversation and talk about it what was the problem. T will teach them through Test Teach Test method and finally they are going to the matching activity, test each other and talk about other examples in group and why they may cause misunderstanding.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

ss are going to read a funny conversation between Obama and Mori prime minister and tell me what is the problem.? but the story should be on small paper in different parts of safir building they should follow the signs and numbers and find the story any where. each ss has a number and should find that number. stick in order instruction: 1- numerate ss 2- there are some papers on the walls with numbers go and find ur number ICQ: u should bring the first paper u see or just ur number? ( our number) stick them on the board in order, read the story and tell me what is the problem. why?

Test #1 (6-8 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

elicit how and who and elicit in what other situations they might have a problem? ex coat and.... they have the same form in our language but different meaning so it may cause trouble. can you think of any other examples. 1 min in pair. what do we call who/ how in English? what about father, pedar bad, bad name, nam tell ss to match part 1. the titles and words. Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Test #2 (4-5 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

part 2 recognize the kind of vocabulary in pair. SS TEST EACH OTHER. BRING MORE EXAMPLES WITH ANSWER SHEET. 2 GROUPS ASK OTHER. GET POSITIVE POINTS FOR EACH T answer.
