Speaking
Advanced level

Description

This lesson focuses on listening and speaking. The listening is about globalization, what people think about it and each speaker refers to an aspect of day to day life to express his/her views on the topic. In the pre-listening activity I will ask them questions related to how globalization and English language are related, if they are. Then, students will listen to an interview with a linguist about the English language and globalization. While listening, they will do some exercises. The purpose of this listening is to give students an idea of how English is changing as the result of globalization and focus on some of the problems people around the world have with the language and how they feel about the language. This stage is also a preparation for the speaking stage where they have to devise an action plan to improve their English. In this lesson, students will have the chance to discuss different strategies to improve the language in a very open way and interactive way.
