In this lesson, students will learn the vocabularies of airports through the pictures and reading. They also will be able to make a conversation about airport.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of airport words in the context of travel and airport

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide scan reading practice using a text about Top airports in the context of airports


Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage, I will ask them about the last time they were at an airport, and where they traveled in order to discuss about this topic.

Pre-Test (2-4 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

In this stage, I will ask my students if they know any words related to the topic ( airport ). Then I will write them with their meanings which they say.

Teach (10-12 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

In this stage, I will show the pictures and write the related words for each picture on the board with their meaning and part of speech. Then I play a video about conversation at an airport. I will also ask them to do part b on page 20.

Post-Test (5-7 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

In this stage, I will write some highlighted words on the board. Then ask my students to skim the text and do part b on page 21. I also ask them to read the text completely with details.

Free practice (4-6 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

In this stage, I will ask them about the differences between top airports and another airports according to the text which was read. I will also ask them to do a Role-play on page 21 part d.
