Procedure

Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will see a photo of a room, I tell them this is one of my favorite rooms to have. It's nice and simple. Then ask them to tell me the name of the furniture in the room if they can. And I will tell them my favorite piece of furniture is a bed what about you and try to elicit what they have learned from the previous lesson.

Pre-Listening (2-3 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In this stage, I will show a photo of the student's book to review some related vocabulary related to the topic. Students will work in pairs to match the pictures with the words.

While-Listening #1 (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with gist listening tasks

In this stage, I will play the audio file for the first time for the students in order to get the gist of it, and I will ask them to answer the question in the exercise. They must do it solo and share their answers with the class.

While-Listening #2 (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with more detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

In this stage, I will show the exercise on screen and students will listen to the audio file again for some specific information. They will listen to the audio in the main room and discuss the answer with their peers in the BORs.

Post-Listening (4-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to expand on what they've learned

I will give students time to work in pairs and have a discussion about their own rooms with the vocabulary that they have learned on this topic. Students will be able to practice their speaking and listening skills in this activity. They will then share their partner's answer in the main room.
