TP#2 Grammer/Modal Verbs/ Levels of Uncertainty
Upper-Int level

Description

In this lesson, I am doing a grammer lesson ;modal verbs(levesl of cetainty about the future).First of all, I will start the lesson with a short lead-in to set up a context of the listening tape that talks about relationships among co-workers.Sts ,in pairs, compare their answers with the conversation they heard and the feedback will be taken.Ex 3b and 3c will be useful to elicit some details about the speakers . Sts will use peer checking and Whole class feedback is taken(WCFB). The mean cocern in this lesson is the meaning & form of modal vebs so I will get the sts invloved in the action of analysis the target language (TL). Some sentences will be on the White board (WB) and sts are asked,in pairs, to group them into (will definitely happen/ definitely, probably won't happen). In a group sts try to elicit the meaning of modal verbs and give some examples. After that , sts will be asked to look at the form of modal verbs and in pairs discuss the verbs that followed by( to + infinitive) and which not.FB is taken and the form will be written on the WB with pronounciation .
