Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Have you heard of any conspiracy theories recently? Do you believe them? 2. In pairs, discuss the question and share your answers with the teacher!

Pre-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1. Read the questions in 2A. 2. In pairs, discuss the questions in 2A. Tell your partner what you think. 3. Share your answer with the teacher.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

1. Read the question in 2B. 2. Go through the article to check your answers. 3. Share the correct answers with the teacher.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

1. Read the questions in 3A. 2. Read the articles for details. 3. Get back to the questions and answer them in pairs. 4. Check your answers with other classmates. 5. Teacher will provide guidance. 1. Read the words in the box in 3B. 2. In pairs, get back to the articles and find relevance between the words and the articles. 3. Share your ideas with the teacher.

Post-Reading/Listening (12-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1. Read the questions in 3C. 2. In pairs, ask each other the questions and write down your partner's answers. 3. Ask questions about their answers.
