Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a story telling and conversation in the context of my life in film.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a notes in the context of my life in film.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. If life was a film, what would you call it? Why? 2. What's the genre of the film?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

1. Look at the film strip in 9A, then read the instructions. 2. Imagine you are going to make a film about your life. Choose five events you would like to include. Write some notes in the film strip below. 3. The teacher will provide support on emerging language.

Useful Language (5-8 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

At this stage, the students will begin practising speaking about the film, and the teacher will provide support on fluency.

Productive Task(s) (15-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

1. At this stage, the students will begin speaking about the film of their life. 2. After they finish speaking, the students will exchange the film strips and ask questions like a. Why did you choose to...? b. What happened when you...? c. What did you enjoy best about...? 3. The teacher will encourage them to ask more questions at this stage.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

At this stage, the teacher will provide feedback on accuracy and fluency
