In this lesson student will learn how to use the active and passive voice in their writing. Students will learn how to change from the active to the passive voice. Students will learn how to use the target language in their daily life.

Procedure

Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To attract SS and make them pay more attention for the lesson

TT attracts SS and make them focus as they have a task to do. TT shows three pictures asks SS what can you see in these pictures. Then TT gives three questions and asks SS to work in pairs and answer questions together in three minutes..

Highlight and Context (15-16 minutes) • To encourage SS to understand the grammar rule throgh a text

Using CECDW method [contextulisation, elicitation, ccqs, drilling, writing] TT tells SS a personal short story which is [yesteday when I went back home I found that my son drank the juice and it was too much juice by the way, and Once I entered the kitchen I found that the milk was dropped........... I shocked because I didn't know who did that. Then, TT writes the sentences on the boared [ my son drank the juice, and the milk was dropped]........ Later TT writes..... By my cat pet after asking SS what do you think who dropped the milk. Then, TT elicit: who drank the juice... My son... The sentence focuses on who actively did the action.. Then, the other sentense do we know hear who dropped the milk... No.... So the sentence focuses on who or what received the action.. And clarify that that the passive voice is usually formed by.. [verb to be +the past participle of the transitive verb] TT writs the first sentence Once more and clarify how to change it from active to passive voice.

Cotrolled practice (5-6 minutes) • Prctise SS to identify the active and passive voice.

TT gives SS five questions and ask them to work together in groups and try to answer these questions. After they answer questions TT give a feedback for each question.

Cotrolled practice (9-10 minutes) • To make sure that SS got the rule.

TT asks SS to work in pairs and try to change from the active to passive voice.

Freer practice (6-7 minutes) • To make SS produce the target language.

TT asks SS to work in groups and write their own sentences using the active voice and try to change it to the passive voice.
