Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I am going to show the students a video from a famous cartoon. I will ask them some questions about the video: 1) What is peppa's favorite fruit? 2)What is George's favorite fruit? 3)Are carrots fruits? What are they? 4)What is your favorite fruit? 5)What is your favorite vegetable?

Test #1 (3-5 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

-I am going to show the students some flash cards and ask them :"What is this?" -I am going to draw two columns on the board(healthy and unhealthy food) -I am going to ask them : do you think this one is healthy ? do you think this one is unhealthy? and then I am going to stick the flash cards to the right columns. -Can I eat these things everyday?

Teach (5-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

We are going to read the text together. I am going to teach them the target vocab and show them the spelling.

Test #2 (3-5 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

-We are going to answer the book's Questions. -I am going to give them instructions on how to answer the questions. -Assign time for the task. -Ask ICQs(are we going to put a tick in front of the unhealthy food?) -Model the first answer. -Ask them to check in pairs. -Elicit answers.

Free practice (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I am going to give them some food (toys) , plates ,forks and knives. I am going to ask them to work in groups to plan three healthy meals for the day. We are going to discuss their choices together.

Test (2-3 minutes) • to gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

-I will give them flash cards and ask the students to work in groups in order to arrange them to form a sentence. -Elicit the answers

-I will ask students to work in pairs to play a guessing game.(What have you got in your lunch box). -Each students is going to choose some items to be put in her\his lunch box and the other students will try to guess them all using yes or no questions.Example:Have you got a banana ? Yes,I have. -Ask ICQs :Are you going to hide what you have in your lunch box from your partner? -Model the first one with the whole class.
