To introduce and practice business collocations in the context of a business plan
To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of business
Procedure (32-42 minutes)
The class starts showing students three pictures about business, then have learners talk about the following question Would you like to start your own business?
Teacher sends via chat a text in pdf ( Audio - Text adaption) , students read it for some minutes, then, teacher shows a ppt with a question ( What is the conversation about?) with different answers. After that, students need to identify which answer is the best option that contains the main idea of the text. ( Gist task)
Teacher introduces business collocation by context, eliciting the meaning and showing pictures to help, in order to cover the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target languge, then students use google form to reinforce the language clarification, for this task they need to choose the correct collocation according to the picture.
For this stage, students do a task in google form in order to develop a meaningful practice, choosing the correct verb to complete sentences or questions. The learners do this individually and then check in pairs using BORs, after that OCFB.
In this stage, teacher promoves students to participate in a communicative task. Learners will select only 3 questions from the ppt and answer them in BORs. After that, teacher conducts feedback on the task and DEC.
