In this lesson , students learn about past continuous , at the first I will play a video for them and after that I ask students to write what was she / he saying , I am aware that they have already learnt past simple , in second step I will write true sentence and ask my students to give me an example by pattern , in third step I will cover MFP , and in final step give them some exercise to do

Main Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about past continues

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher plays a video and asks the students to repeat the sentence.

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Students write a dialogue of movie in chat box

Highlighting (3-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

The teacher will write true answer of their students and write it on the board , and ask them to give me a example like pattern .

Clarification (5-7 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

The teacher will show students the place of past continuous in time line by their guess , and after teacher will write the form of past continuous , at the end teach his students how we pronounce it

Controlled Practice (3-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

ask students to complete an exercise on page X

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-7 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

teacher will ask students what were you doing in this time yesterday?

Free Practice (4-7 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The teacher will ask students did you watch football last night at 8 pm ? If their answer was No ask them why they didn't watch it
