Possessive Adjectives

Description

In this lesson, the students will learn about possessive adjectives by rewriting sentences and reading a dialogue. They will also be given a chance to have a go at controlled speaking by talking to their class fellows. They learn to apply language knowledge to understand how language functions in different contexts, make effective choices for meaning or style and comprehend more fully when reading or listening.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of possessive Adjs in the context of Family and things. After this lesson, students will be able to define possessive adjectives, differentiate between possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns ,and properly use possessive adjectives in context

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide process writing practice of a some EX with possessive Adjs with what they want to talk about in the context of as I said like family and things

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will show a picture of a family and ask them to imagine this is your family and you want to tell me about your family so I would ask them who is he/she. and they say he is my mom/dad ...... besides of that I would ask some Q about the things they have in the class too

Explaination (10-15 minutes) • To show Ss the difference between the subject pronouns and the possessive adjectives.

in this part, I'll write their examples on the board and compare them and also underline the possessive adj too. but this time sts would make new sentences on their own.

Post Listening (15-20 minutes) • to help students understand what they listen to.

-Use the audio, get the students to listen to it, and then fill in the blanks on page 24. -SS peer-check their answers.

Feedback and Error Correction (15-18 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

I'll ask some Q about their friends in the class to understand they can use possessive adj as well.
