In this lesson, Sts listen to an interview about the five most dangerous animals in North America.

  • To provide specific information and gist listening practice using a text about dangeroud animals in the context of Animals

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The students will rank five animal from the least to the most dangerous one.

Highlighting (2-3 minutes) • To pre-teach new vocabulary

The teacher will share a power point file and teaches the words that students need in order to better understand the listening.

Clarification (3-4 minutes) • Listening for gist

The teacher will play a audio file and the students are going to listen to the specialist talking about the five mos dangerous animals in order to write the name of the animals in order of the least dangerous to the most dangerous.

Controlled Practice/ listenig for detail information (3-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The students will read some questions then they are going to hear the listening again. after that they have a couple of minutes to answer the questions then the teacher will check the answers with the class.

Freer practice (5-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The students will discuss whether they have had an encounter with any of these animals or not and is not what are some dangerous animals in their country they have seen.
