Description

In this lesson, SS are going to learn new vocabularies using the listening. The teacher is going to teach blocking words and she is going to ask the SS to do an exercise and predict the listening by looking at the photos and the topic, then the teacher is going to ask an easy question and play the listening tor SS to check their answers and answer the question. then she will play the listening again and SS are going to listen carefully. after that they are going to do controlled-practice part and check it with WC. In the end they are going to have a free practice related to the topic.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher is going to talk about what she had for dinner last night and she will ask SS what did they have. The teacher is also going to talk about thanksgiving.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

The teacher is going to ask the SS to answer the questions by looking at the photos, then she teaches blocking words that are used in the listening and ask the students to predict what is the listening about.

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

The teacher is going to ask a simple question about the listening and then she will play the listening, after that SS are going to answer the teacher's question and they're going to check their answers. After that the teacher is going to show them another questions and ask the students to listen again (deeply) and answer the questions.

Controlled Practice (1-3 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

SS are going to listen to the listening and answer to the questions and check them with WC.

Free Practice (5-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

SS are going to talk about which of the four dishes or meals do they like/dislike? why? They are also going to talk about their favorite food.
