Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of comparative adjectives in the context of changed life

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist and specific information listening practice using a text about how has your life changed over some years in the context of changed life

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

teachers talk about a new car that she has bought last week and compare it to her old car

Exposure (1-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

the teacher writes Adjective and Adverb on the board, then discuses about them with the students and write some example to clear this two types of part of speech and review them somehow.

Clearance (1-2 minutes) • Students understand what are adjectives and adverbs

the teacher asks students to do the exercise of 3a firstly, then checks the answers and writes them on the board.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

the teacher asks students to have a look at exercise NO1 of listening part, then plays the file and asks them to answer it; after that checks the answers and write them on the boards.

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

the teacher writes a sentence of listening part on the board and uses it in teaching comparative adjectives. the teacher uses the grammar box for more explanation.

Control practice of Grammar (1-2 minutes) • Students understand what are comparative adjective and adverb

the teacher asks students to answer the exercise of 3b, then checks the answers and writes them on the board.

analysis of listening (2-4 minutes) • the students understand listening part completely

the teacher asks students to read the Question of 5.8 firstly, then plays the listening file again.

Controlled Practice (1-2 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

the teacher asks the students to answer the question 5.8 at first, then checks them with the students and writes the answers on the board.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

students talk about the changes that have happened in their life.
