Description

teach the students a vocabulary system. They will learn about Prefixes: their meanings and how to use them. I will base my explanation on ttt approach. it will start by testing students' previous knowledge then I will give them the new ones. In the end, there will be a controlled practice through answering exercises on live worksheet, and there will be a freer practice vis a speaking activity.

Main Aims

  • To provide review of previous lesson about prefixes in the a general context
  • To provide clarification of new prefixes
  • To provide practice of the new prefixes along with the previous ones and apply them in a real life situations

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a to improve students' fluency by adding new version of vocabulary depending on the students' vocabulary that has been already acquired.

Procedure

Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T. asks students if they are familiar with prefixes. -Ss answers. -T. asks CCQs about prefixes in case any of Ss does not know them: 1- Do they come at the end of words? No. 2- Do they come at the beginning of words? Yes. 3- Do they change the meaning of words? Yes. 4- Do not they change the meaning of words? No. 4- Are they complete separate words or just some letters added to other words?

Test #1 (2-4 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Ss join the link to play hitting the words with prefixes

Teach (5-7 minutes) • explain the new vocabulary

using the presentation to explain the new vocabulary and the examples

match the prefix with its meaning (1-3 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Ss join the link of live worksheet to match the prefix with its meaning and to check the grade after finishing the test

Free Practice (5-10 minutes) • (5-10 minutes) • To achieve speaking objectives.

T asks students to tell an imaginary story using as much prefixes as they can
