Procedure

Pre Speaking (10-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

LEAD IN: Teacher asks the students to go back to page 76 in their books to remember the listening topic about Amelia and then answer the questions. Ss have 5 minutes to work individually. -How did Amelia behave toward the caller? (she shouted at him and hung up on him) -Did she answer in a good way? (No) -What does she say about her behavior? (she said that she would have been more polite) -What should she have done? (she should have said no and asked him to put her on their "don't call" list) ICQs: -Are you going to answer from your mind or the topic? (the topic) -Are you going to work in pairs or individually? ( individually) -How much time do you have ? (5 minutes) TEACHING VOCABULARY: -teacher shows the students a picture then ask eliciting questions : what can you see? a boy is he happy? no how can we describe him? very angry or (mad) teacher says the definition: mad means very angry at someone or something. Ask CCQs: is it being happy? no is it being a little angry? no what's the most thing that makes you mad? teacher says the word 3-4 times teacher shows the ss the word for fist time (mad) synonym: angry antonym: calm e.g., She got mad because I broke her favorite cup. -teacher shows a picture then ask eliciting question: what can you see ? a boy and a girl are they happy? no what is the boy doing to the girl? Shouting or (yelling) at her teacher says the definition: yell means shout loudly, usually because of angriness or pain. CCQs: is it talking softly? no is it because of a good feeling? no when was the last time you yelled at someone? teacher says the word 3-4 times. teacher shows the students the word for the first time (yell) synonym: shout antonym: whisper e.g., The teacher yelled at me, because I didn't do my homework. teacher shows the students the students the picture then asks eliciting questions: what is he doing? pushing the girl is that a good behavior? no how can we describe him? rude Teacher says the definition to the students: rude means acting in an impolite way toward other people or saying impolite things about them. CCQs: is it acting in a polite way? no is it saying good things about them? no have you ever met a rude person before? teacher says the word 3-4 times teacher shows the students the word for the first time (rude) synonym: impolite, unkind antonym: kind, polite e.g., He's rude, because he said bad words to his teacher. PLANNING TIME teacher opens a discussion about the topic by asking these questions: Have you ever behaved in a bad way before? What was the situation? How did the second person behave? How did you feel? What should you have done? What should he/she have done? Do you have any remorse for what you've done?

while speaking (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

CONTROLLED PRACTICE: Teacher asks the students to take turns telling (true stories) about the situation below: Think about the last time you: had an argument weren't very polite lost your temper sulked or moped hung up on someone FREER PRACTICE: teacher divides students into groups and then each group chooses one of the situations they talked about and tells the class : What happened? How the person reacted? What they think the person could have done differently?

Feedback and Simulation (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

SIMULATION: the teacher asks the students to work in pairs and make a roleplay about any of the situation we talked about: (like being impolite) for example; someone broke his friends mug and his friend shouted really bad at him FEEDBACK: - students' feed back teacher says i want you to criticize yourselves, did you say something that you want to be better? -teacher's feedback teacher says when you were telling the story I heard someone using tenses other than past tenses, it could be better if you use only past tenses.
