  • To provide gist and specific information listening practice using a text about describing words in the context of break, repair, comfortable, hard, soft, expensive, cheap, wooden, metal, modern

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

the teacher asks students to keep closed their books and listen to her/him. the teacher says a story about a child who has bought a table recently, the teacher uses the new words that wants to teach in this story. Finally, the teacher asks students about their favorite table. The teacher asks "Which kind of table do you like? wooden, metal or modern?"

Exposure (1-2 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

the teacher holds up the flash cards one by one and asks the students: " what is this?" regardless the students know it or not, the teacher says the answers and writes them on the board.

Highlighting (1-2 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

the teacher plays the listening file No.43 and shows the flash cards again. Of course, the teacher asks the students to repeat the words after him/her

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

the teacher asks students to open their book page 44 and plays the listening file No. 44. then asks students to follow the story and read the text. In continue, the teacher writes new words on the board and asks students to read them, then the teacher says an example for every one of them, in this way the teacher asks students to say some examples somehow. And maybe point to the sentences of the text of the book.

Controlled Practice (1-2 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The teachers show the flashcards and ask students to say the words.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

the teacher ask students to write a paragraph about every thing that they want and use at least 7 words of the words that they've learnt in this lesson. It can be a short story or describing an object.
