T will hand out table and have sts complete the chart. Check in pairs. After they complete chart, have them choose three of the words in the past tense and write a sentence using them.
T will ask sts when we use past simple tense. T will then go through each use and provide examples of how each use is used.
T will instruct sts to complete HO CCQ exercise to check for understanding. Check in pairs, then discuss.
T will pass out scrambled sentence exercise and instruct sts to complete. Sts check in pairs and read sentences aloud.
T will group sts in to 3 or 4 and give them each a type of entertainment (music festival, sporting event) and have them tell a story in the simple past about it. Story does not have to be real. Sts will then discuss as a group.
If time allows, have sts get up and walk around in order to complete "Find Someone Who" activity.
