To extend holiday activities vocabulary of students and give Ss practice in vocabulary to express their activities through the context of holiday/free time.
To help students speak about things they do in their free time and to give them fluency practice.
Procedure (43-53 minutes)
T greats students and ask them where do they like to spend their holiday and what do they want to do in their free time. Teacher shows them a picture of San Francisco and put them question about it.
T shows Ss pictures of four tourist places in San Francisco and asks them to match the things they find in pictures with the word. They work in pairs and match the things with their names. After that, T ask them to talk about three places tourist go to in your city and what do they do there.
T shows Ss pictures related to different activities. Then he gives Ss a list of activities and asks students to tick the activity they do in your free time. Then he asks them to match the words/phrases with the pictures.
T asks Ss to form meaningful questions with the words. He posts the words on wall students crawl the wall and make questions. Then they ask and answer the questions about last holiday.
Ss work in groups. They listen an audio recording about San Francisco and put the photos A-D in order. They work in pairs and match activities 1-8 to the places. Golden Gate Park, Nob Hill and Fisherman's Wharf. They listen again and check their answers.
