  • To practise listening for specific information in the context of dating

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (7-17 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students look at photos on the projector and discuss what they can understand from them with their friends. After that, they will discuss their opinions about choosing their future spouse in groups. Then they play a game putting the words (in cards) in the right place of the text of the book as it will be prepared already having numbered missing words, and there are words that are missing, and they will listen to get them and put them in the write order. Actually, to make it clear, the text will be presented on the projector and students get word cards to but in an order of numbers that makes the text complete.

Test #1 (5-8 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Students will do exercise 6 a as a game individually and then share their answers as a group and correct them if needed. Actually, the exercise will be divided into two parts and each student will do a part then compare. after that they will listen to the answers.

Teach (10-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Students are given sentences to be ordered. The words of the sentences are on small cards that need order to have a clear meaning. Then I will let them check each other sentences and correct them if misplaced. Then I will elicit the tense and rule using the board. A drilling that has nothing to do with the board is going to be done.

Test #2 (6-8 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

The students will be given instructions to write questions about Kim from the text individually. Then they will share them with their groups. And a general feedback will be given if needed.

Free practice (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The students will use their own questions from the last exercise and ask their classmates in turns. They will rotate and ask and answer each time.
