Description

In this lesson, students learn about the jobs' requirements through vocabulary lesson. The lesson starts with a discussion about the needs of some jobs. Then there is a teach activity using (MPF) about some new adjectives to describe job requirements that are also used in this topic. This is followed by a controlled practice task. Finally, the students apply on the lesson through controlled practice.

  • To provide the students with clarification of meaning ,pronunciation and form of vocabulary in the context .

  • To provide the students with a fluency speaking practice in a debate in the context of the lesson

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will talk about working nowadays. ask ss these following questions :

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

I will chest the handout and give them the instructions for the task : in pairs match the qualities in the box with the definitions : I give them 5 minutes to do it. I monitor them during this activity. After that, I listen to their answers. Finally, I give them the answer keys and ask them to check their answers.

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

during the previous monitoring,I took notes of the difficult words . I elicit the meaning of blocking words. I will clarify the meaning of these words in different ways : (creative -fit-flexible-formal qualifications-good communication skills-methodical -positive and encouraging -stamina ) . I will use PPT pictures, synonyms, contrasts, and exemplifications to clarify the meaning. I model the pronunciation then Ss drill chorally and individually . After that, I write the words one by one showing Ss stress and other phonological features . i will highlight them. I use CCQs to check their understanding.

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

I use the controlled practice task. First, I chest the handout and ask them in pairs to complete the sentences with appropriate words from the box in exercise 12a. I monitor their performances during answering the task and taking notes.I give them minutes to answer. Finally, I will stick the answers keys on the class wall and ask them to check their answers from the sheets on the wall.

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

From the previous words, I will give them instructions to work in pairs. tell your friend what job qualifications do you have? and what qualifications do you want to have? why?
