TP7 - Listening: Local hero
Upper-intermediate level

Description

In this lesson, ss are asked to listen to two texts. The two audio files are connected: they're two portions of the same story. The lesson will begin with a brief discussion among ss on the figure of superheroes (what if they were real?). Ss will be given an image of a masked hero and some newspaper headlines. Ss will try to figure out who the character in the picture is, and they'll verify their predictions through a first listening. During the second listening, their task will be to identify which phrases are pronounced among those on a list. The second audio file will be preceded by a session of speaking in which the ss will try to make predictions about the true identity of the protagonist. At first listen they will verify the predictions. With the second listening, the T will ask the ss to replace portions of the sentence with what is said in the text. The session will end with a discussion about what the students think about the story.
