To provide product writing practice of a charting and documentation in the context of nursing
To provide deduction listening practice using a text about conversation in the context of nursing
Procedure (45-60 minutes)
Teacher asks students about their next shift as a nurse and asks what is a nurse handover then proceeds to ask the following questions: What do you think are the features of a good handover? What information does not have to be repeated in a handover? Why not? What can happen if handovers do not communicate important information from one shift to another?
Student listens to the teacher reading the audioscript out loud, after this, student is asked to answer the following questions: What is her present medical problem? What is her past medical history? Then student listens a second time to answer true/false questions.
The Teacher gives the next activity where useful language is shown, student has to mantch the abbreviations with their respective meanings
Student listens the aaudioscript one last time to fill the gaps with useful language acquired in previous lessson.
