Abc A worksheet test

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed reading practice using a text about life before Internet in the context of Fax machines, encyclopedias

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Talk about life before the internet in the context of what did we do? what was the things we use?

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-12 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Talk about him and his English background and why does he think he's at a higher level?

Speaking test (15-18 minutes) • to find how can he use grammar and his fluency and accuracy

ask him: What do you do usually? what did you do yesterday? what's your plan for the future? Have you ever been to a foreign country? if not, do you like to go to foreign countries? tell me about your last vacation?

Written test (20-30 minutes) • to find his exact level in writing.

Use the worksheet to test his exact level of writing. give him 20 to 30 minutes to choose the correct answer.

Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • to talk about some topics to make up the mind

Pre-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

While-Reading (10-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

pre-teach / vocabulary (5-9 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

First, ask them do they know any of them? if yes, what were we using for? 1. Encyclopedias: People used them to look up information. 2. Carbon paper: people used it to make one or two copies of a document. 3. Enormous: Very large in size

Post-Reading (10-15 minutes) • to have a discussion
