In this lesson the students will learn how to make yes no questions using present continuous tense.

Main Aims

  • Present Continuous Yes/No questions with "you".

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice using present continuous tense.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students to write yes no questions using present continuous tense.

I will be making questions and write them on the board and elicit the answer from the students and I will give them a sentence and tell them to make a question using the present continuous.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through writing and speaking.

I will ask students my questions and find one person who is doing each thing and I will ask follow up questions.

Useful Language (3-5 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

The students will ask yes no questions about their possible plans to each other and answer them.

Productive Task(s) (15-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

I will give the students about day trips an students will match the correct answers to these questions and they will write questions about the plans.They will be in groups of A and B they will ask these questions to each other.They will be practicing the present continuous yes no questions and answers.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

I will make sure students are using the preesnt continuous tense,I will tell them to read me their questions and answers and make corrections if they make mistakes.
