This is a grammar lesson whose intention is to present and practice Present Simple.

Main Aims

  • To provide practice and clarification of Present Simple in the context of TV actor’s daily routine.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice with vocabulary (MFP) in the context of TV actors' daily routines
  • To allow Ss to practice their speaking skills during the group and pair discussions.

Procedure

Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To generate and raise interest in the topic

-T shares screen to show Ss slide number 1 Daily Routine -T asks Ss What does it mean? If Ss do not know, T explains. -T shows Ss a video in which Ss have to guess the daily routine before the picture is revealed. -After each picture T asks Ss What time do you...?

Text Work (6-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-T explains Ss the next activity. Read about TV actors' daily routines -T creates the breakout rooms, sends the link, and sets the time (1 minute). -Ss work in pairs to guess the time that TV actors do some activities (get up, have breakfast, start work, have lunch) -T monitors the room. -T shares Ss and asks Ss to read individually -T gives 3 minutes to read -T creates the breakout rooms, shares screen, and sets the time (1 minutes). -Ss check the answers in pairs before OCFB.

Guided discovery Task / Clarification (10-12 minutes) • Elicit Ss to try to identify the Simple Present rules
