We have a coversation about stıories. Teacher asks "What type of stories do you enjoy the most and why?" and "Do you like telling stories, listening to stories or watching stories?"

Pre-Reading/Listening (6-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

While-Reading/Listening #1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Ss listen for gist and put the pictures in the correct order they are mentioned in the listening.

Befoe the second listening teacher draws Ss attention to the Reporting Verbs section and gives a short explanation. Then Ss listen again and answer the Reporting Verbs questions in pairs.

Post-Reading/Listening (45-50 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

We discuss what makes a good story. As a post-reading and writing exercise, Ss write stories in groups of three. We use the Story Dice website for this section. Teacher encourages Ss to use reporting verbs such reminded, explained, whispered, agreed, warned etc.
