Listening - conditionals
To provide clarification and practice of the second conditional in the context of arts
To provide accuracy and fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of daily life
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
We start by talking about the listening and I ask ss questions likw "what type of art are you interestedi n?" or "Would you prefer being a performer or speactator and why?"
Since the first two lessons (the listening) work as the exposure stage, no further exposure is needed in this lesson. The teacher clarifies the meaning of first and the second conditional with extra attention on second conditional. Students do a matching exercise in pairs to understand the usage better. Teacher helps clarify the grammar further.
Students open page 139 and do 9.1 A and B as controlled practice.
Students are divided into pairs and given a worsheet with questions they need to answer using the second conditional. Teacher observes.
