Shopping lesson, buying some items from a shop
provide students introduction and practice of the functional langugage used for shopping.
To provide students practice listening for gist and to present TL in the conversation in the context of shoping.
Procedure (45 minutes)
I will show students some pictures and ask them to discuss in pairs. Studemts will ask each other what are these pictures about? and why do people go there?
I will give them some qustions about the listening and tell them they are going to to 3 conversations to answer to these three questions. Then they compare their answers in pairs. I will give feedback as a whole class.
I will elicite the target language from students by asking the following questions: I will ask students what did the man in the shop said? When he was asking about the price what did he say? I will start the TL analysis,meaning form and pronunciation.
I will ask students to match questions with answers. Then compare their answers in groups of three students.
In this activity students will practice TL in the rolle playing. I will give some students items that they are going to from a shop and some others assigne them the rolle of the shop keeper. In this way they will be forced to use the TL.
