Description

In this lesson, the students will speak about time in different contexts.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of time.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of time/planning in the context of time.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Read the questions in the box. 2. In pairs, take turns asking each other the questions and answers. 3. Share your answers with the teacher.

Exposure (10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

1. Read the sayings in the box. 2. In pairs, discuss the sayings in the box. 3. Share your ideas. Do you agree or disagree with the sayings?

Useful Language (5 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

The students will make a list of the new vocabulary while working on the tasks.

Productive Task(s) (15-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

1. Read the example questions in the box. 2. Think of three questions about my time and daily routine (you can ask more than three questions). 3. Start asking me the questions.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

At this stage, I'll provide the students with feedback on fluency.
