Main Aims

SS match the pictures with different types of art individually. They check the answers in groups. T gives the answers and regarding some vocabulary T elicits meaning (by asking CCQ and show pictures for the difference between sculpture and statue) and practice pronunciation (chain back for old manuscript) then write them on WB to show the stress. Then, SS should practice S by asking questions written on WB by T."which picture do you like the most?why?" SS should speak to their partners and before that T gives an example to clarify..

Pre-reading (3-4 minutes) • make SS ready for reading

T ask SS 2 or 3 questions about the pictures. Are they old?are they created by famous people? are they found in unexpected places? T tries to elicit the meaning of "unexpected" by telling a personal story: I have a friend, one day I called her and I heard her cry, she said her father died. Her father didn't was not sick and didn't have any accident, so his death was totally "unexpected". T write "unexpected on the WB before telling the story and by point to WB, tries to elicit it from SS.

SS skim the text and they should match the titles with the passages. there are 4 texts with 8 pictures.

Reading for specific purposes (10-11 minutes) • To fill in a gap exercise

T will pre-teach "goddess, reproduction and flea market" and SS do exercise 2. In the reading for specific details stage, SS read the text again and complete 8 sentences with the words in the reading text. They will check answer in pairs and then whole class will give the answers. T ask how they found the answers and then give feedback on WB.

Vocabulary extention (4-5 minutes) • To learn different parts of speech for "discover"

T write "discover (verbs)" on WB. Then write discovery, discovered and undiscovered and try to elicit the parts of speech from SS. Later, SS will be asked to complete the task with correct form of discover (in pairs).
