  • To provide review and clarification of using the first conditional, functions and future tenses in the context of plans for next vacations or trips

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will ask ss some questions to set the context: - How often do you write letters? - How often do you write emails? - How useful is it to do it?

Sample Analysis (10-12 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T will share an email (layout) to check for the structure, useful language, and any other important aspects (language to be used). First, analyze the restructure: - Greeting - Answer the question, share a point of view, explain, give ideas, etc. - Questions - Farewell Secondly, make them write possible vocabulary depending on each stage of the email. * Ask the what plans they could have for vacations. * Remark the use of the first conditional and future tenses, they will use it in the practice.

Productive Task(s) (15-18 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T will share the screen to present an informal email for students to remember how to write an informal or neutral email and to see a real structure of it while explaining the activity. Share the conversation that ss are going to answer to set the context before they start to write. 1. Ss will now put into practice the TL by writing individually an email to a close friend explaining/sharing their plans for vacations. If they do not have plans, they can create a new one to make use of the tenses and 1st conditional.

Feedback and Error Correction (7-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

1. Students will work in pairs to check on the other letter based on a rubric that will be shared by the teacher. 2. T sill ask ss to share mistakes they found, how they correct it. If the mistake remains after their peer feedback, make the proper corrections.
