In this lesson, teacher focuses on the positive form of will. The lesson starts with a discussion about students' future events. This is followed by a gap-fill exercise. Finally, there is a semi controlled practice online to make sure the lesson is understood.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- T greets Ss - T asks Ss about their future events

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

- T elicits future tense - T explains the structure of the tense - Ss brainstorm verbs to be used in sentences - Ss say what will they do after class?

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

- basic form of the verb comes after 'will'

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

- T clarifies the formal and informal (unplanned) situations in the future tense.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

- Ss answer exercise B (pair work) exercise C (pair work) Exercise D (altogether) - T monitors the activity - T reviews answers

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

- Ss utilize their smart phones to play a multiple choice game based on learning in future tense.
