Description

This lesson is about a book talking about food in different pats of the world. Students are going to learn about some vocabulary food. They will have the opportunity to speak discuss topic related to food.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide students practice reading for gist and specific information

Subsidiary Aims

  • To introduce some vocabulary related to the food. Provide sts practce for speaking fluency about the context of lesson.

Procedure

Lead-in & Pre-teach (3 minutes) • To set lesson context, engage students and introduce some vocabulary.

T. will show sts some pictures and try to elicit the answers from sts. T. try te pre-teach some vocabulary.

While-Reading (12 minutes) • To provide students practice reading for gist.

T. will give students text cut into pieces with question and will ask sts to match the questions with answers.

While-Reading (10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, true and false tasks

Teacher will give sts true and false questions then will give sts text and will ask sts to read the find answer for the exercise. First sts work individual then compare their answers in gruops. T. give feedback as a whole class.

Post-Reading (15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned in discussion about different food around the world

Sts work in groups of three. T. will show sts a food in every two minutes sts try to guess and discuss about the country, the type of food, the time people eat this food.

Vocabulary practice (5 minutes) • to give sts opportunity to practice vocabulary.

Sts will classfy vocabulary into two categories. Fresh food and processed food. Sts compare their answers. T. feedback as a whole classs.
