Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Teacher greets students -Teacher displays a picture to the students and asks them to predict about it. -After students predict from the picture, help students to guess what the topic will be about, then ask them some questions, do you use the internet a lot? how much time a day do you spend using the internet? -Next, move on to the next presentation and make 2 teams(work on break-out rooms), ask them to make a list of the advantages and disadvantages of the use of the internet. Give them 2 minutes to discuss, then, move on to share their list in the main room.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-Now, move on to the next presentation and explain instructions. -Students will be reading the text and answering a chart. Students will look at the bold words in the article and with those words, they are going to complete the chart and select the correct meaning. Students will be working individually. ICQs: Are you doing this activity in pairs or individually? Are you using the words from the article or somewhere else? -After students finish the activity, they will have 2 minutes to compare their answers with their classmates (break-out rooms) -When the 2 minutes are over, students will share their answers as a class.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

-Using a jamboard, students will have access to the vocabulary that they were exposed to. -The teacher will send students the link and proceed to teach meaning using a matching activity. (Provide CCQs) -Then, the form of the words (Part of speech, numbers of syllables) and at the end pronunciation (Word stress, pronunciation)

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-The teacher will send students the presentation link. They would answer the activity on the presentation. -Students will rewrite sentences with the correct prefix. Students will complete this activity individually, then compare their answers with their classmates. After they finish, the correct answers will be provided and discussed in class. The teacher will nominate students for participation.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-Using the google slides, students will answer an activity. They will be introduced to 5 questions, within those 5 questions they will have to choose the correct prefix. After they finish choosing the correct prefix, they will answer and discuss the questions with their classmates.

Feedback • To correct and provide delayed error correction to students
