Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

post-diagnostic alternatives: 1. review grammar terms - subject, verb, object, preposition - defining terms and ordering sentence fragments. 2. discovery task to define "gerunds" 3. controlled practice: e, practice making sentences with like/dislike/gerund pattern. Students write a gerund in sentence blanks to make that sentence true for them. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScr4GeaUJ3yTnmgPcJeSlYIpGylNqwvN922TscVXHarEIOCIw/viewform

Test #2 (5-5 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScr4GeaUJ3yTnmgPcJeSlYIpGylNqwvN922TscVXHarEIOCIw/viewform Breakout rooms: students form 3 original sentences with like/dislike terms + gerund or preposition + gerund.

Free practice (5-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Tzq3WUA4SzZ_Ki2szmgXlNhlyCO_-7TgkoIKEE0jnnE/edit?usp=sharing In BoRs, students use the TL to express what they like to do in their spare time.

Feedback (5-5 minutes) • identify what has been learned

ask students to share a good sentence from their conversations Show examples of student work from test #2 and their free practice for glows and grows.
