Procedure

Warmer (4-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

will be introducing family members vocabulary to students. ask them questions like who is this? , do you have any brothers or sisters? who's your favorite person of your family? etc.

Exposure (10-13 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

divide the class into two groups lines across from each other in front of the white board where the family members flashcards are. then one student from each side pic one family member from the board and have a conversation with the other students ex: who are you? i'm grandma. nice to meet you? then they play rock paper scissors and who ever wins gets a point till all the flashcards are gone

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Rearrange the letters below and connect the word to the correct picture ex: thmore = mother

Free Practice (10-13 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

start on the top of the white board write grandpa. Elicit the other family members as you put flashcards on the tree. as the family tree is complete review the key expressions from the lesson.
